TaD-Rail 2011

News
Last Updated: 16/02/12

The Tring and District Model Railway Club worked with the Methodist Churches in Cheddington, Marsworth and Mentmore in 2009 & 2011 to organise a model railway exhibition for charity.  The exhibition was held at the Church in Cheddington and raised funds for their Churches in Partnership support of World Vision’s work at Stepanavan in Armenia.  Club members took their own layouts and trains to display, while the Church ran the exhibition and provided catering.

Layouts
Denbridge OO Gauge - Trackwork is complete on the lower level, with planning for the upper nearing completion.  The layout is operated regularly on running nights using temporary wiring, which is being replaced with the permanent wiring in a progressive manner.  Control panels are being finished, with one in partial operation at present.  Route setting is being incorporated for the points to the storage loops.  Although the layout is wired for traditional dc operation, it is arranged such that it may be connected to operate with DCC and this has been done successfully on specific evenings.  Scenery is progressing at the front of the layout and, in particular, at the parcels depot corner by the end of the off – scene station. Rugby Central N Gauge has reached the scenery stage. Carl (bridges) and Geoff (water tower and timber shed & workshop) have completed some buildings, off Site. John and Peter are busy with the extensive wiring of the boards so the layout has had to be dismantled and running abandoned. Click here for information and photographs.
