VAMES
- Quainton Road
|
On a beautiful summer’s evening on July 1st a
number of our members took advantage of an invitation to visit
the Vale of Aylesbury Model Engineering Society’s outdoor railway
situated at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre (Quainton).
This is a wonderful multi-gauge outdoor ride-on railway running
live steam and diesel locos as well as a large “garden railway”.
The ride-on track is about ½ mile in length with lots of interest – the
kids will love all the cartoon characters to be seen along the way.
When you next visit B.R.C. be sure and take a walk down to the VAMES
site and enjoy. Our thanks to all of their members for a
great evening.

| Trips |
No
trip again this year, but in 2009, On June 21st
we all went off to visit the Didcot Railway Centre in the morning and
Pendon
Museum in the afternoon. Some might say a proper Father’s Day outing!
At
Pendon, we were fortunate to see the Madder Valley Railway in
operation, as
this layout is rarely run being quite old (built in the 1930s).
